Randúlfr is the oldest son of Hallbjörn Ásbjarnarson, trained in his father’s arts, and generally feeling unsatisfied with his place in the world. Randúlfr grew up listening to his father’s stories of the old times, of questing and adventuring, of slaying dragons and giant, and battling gods and armies of men. He often wishes he lived in the old times, but he also feels it is too late for him. He has had some small adventures, ridding the region of hobgoblins and trolls, but he has never felt it was as significant as being a dragon-slayer. In addition, Randúlfr envies the respect that his brother, Rangarr Hallbjarnarson, receives from the rest of the community.
Randúlfr is a carpenter and woodworker, when he is not taking care of his sheep and cattle, and lives on Geirshöll with his wife, Myrgöl Sveinsdóttir and their children.
